An Introduction...

The GEeK Awards are my own personal movie awards. While the Oscars and Golden Globes celebrate the films that were released over the past year, the GEeK awards celebrate the films I saw over the past year. I give awards by film genre (drama, comedy, romance, etc.) and some general awards (best overall film, worst overall film, etc.). While I go to great lengths to come up with ratings for the films I've seen, the GEeK awards throw those ratings out the window and are based purely on my subjective tastes. A lower rated movie could beat out a higher rater movie; it all depends on how much I personally liked it.

I call them the GEeK awards because my initials are GEK. For most of my life I've been one letter shy of being GEEK, so I'm just playing off of that. Also, it's fitting, seeing as I am a major movie geek. Enjoy!
